Items We Cannot Accept

We cannot accept the following items for recycling. If you have questions about an item not shown on the list, please contact our office and we can tell you whether we can accept it for recycling.

Pressurized Containers Pressurized containers or compressed gas cylinders even if evacuated to atmospheric pressure. Aerosol cans are okay ONLY if punctured.

Hazardous Wastes RCRA or state hazardous wastes. Look for the yellow hazardous waste label or any writing indicating "hazardous waste".

Oil

Liquids of Any Kind Includes antifreeze, oil, gasoline, pesticides, etc.. Freon is okay but is considered a "special item" and will be charged as such. Residual oil inside electronic waste is okay.

Sharp Objects Needles, syringes with needles, or other sharp objects which cannot be safely handled manually.

Poisons Includes pesticides or herbicides and materials contaminated with pesticides or herbicides, or any items with the poison label.

Pharmaceuticals Of Any Kind This includes vaccines, empty pill bottles, and solid or liquid medications of any kind.

Biohazards Includes syringes with needles, "red bag" waste or anything which has come into contact with human or animal body fluids.

Radioactive Materials Or Wastes

Flammable Materials Flammable, explosive, or spontaneously combustible materials. Examples include solvent-soaked or oily rags, gases such as hydrogen or propane, fireworks, linseed oil, gunpowder, ammunition, paint scrapings, etc..

Reactive Materials Includes oxidizers, metal salts, etc..

Broken Mercury-Containing Items Broken items containing mercury such as a thermometer. Unbroken items are okay. Special pricing will apply.

Broken, Leaking, or Corroded Batteries

Paint, Adhesives, Caulk, Solvents, or Thinners

White Goods or Appliances White goods or appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, etc..

Items Too Large to be Handled Safely Anything that would break a pallet or are unsafe to move onto a truck or around the warehouse eg. A large transformer.

Odorous Materials Anything that smells "bad" or "off".

Household Refuse / Trash
