Northeast Recycling Council (NERC) features Metech Recycling’s MA plant in February
newsletter — February 2010 NERC’s email bulletin (http://www.nerc.org/documents/bulletin/201002.html#ewasterecycledmetechf) highlighted that Metech Recycling’s Massachusetts plant in Worcester recycled over 6 million pounds of e-waste in 2009. The volume processed in MA
was enhanced by a number of sponsored collection events, including public drop-off days and other collection programs. Non-profit organizations, government agencies, and schools participating in these programs across Massachusetts recycled over 1.6 million pounds of e-waste.
The 80,000 sq. ft. facility processes e-waste received from electronics manufacturers, businesses, schools, and institutional sources. The plant is certified to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards and is a Qualified BAN e-steward.
Metech Recycling is an Advisory member of NERC (http://www.nerc.org). NERC supports state recycling and economic development programs by increasing efficiencies, decreasing costs, and promoting cooperative, multi-state and coordinated
policies and programs.

Loveland and Pueblo select GRX as their e-waste recycling partner — January 2009
In January, the City of Loveland Recycling Center signed a contract that selected GRX as its partner for recycling consumer e-waste,
#2 HDPE Plastics, and hardbound books brought to the Center. It is expected that this program will keep over 200,000 pounds of toxic
e-waste out of landfills. Loveland chose GRX for this program because we are BAN e-Stewards and demonstrate unparalleled commitment to environmental stewardship.
Until now Pueblo has not had a permanent collection depot for e-waste. But due to the committed efforts of Susan Finzel-Aldred, Environmental Coordinator with the City/County Environmental Health Division, and the hard work of Jack Pendleton, Director of Colorado Roll-off Services (CRS), Pueblo area residents can now recycle most types of electronic equipment at the Pueblo Solid Waste Transfer Station at 1405 Quartz Road at the north end of Pueblo.
The transfer station created a fully contained, sheltered, and supervised drop-off station for e-waste including computers, TV’s, printers, cell phones, and most items with an electric plug. Recycling fees apply and the Center will begin accepting items in mid February. This program is a huge step forward for the Pueblo community and GRX is gratified that our record of responsible recycling resulted in being selected as a partner for this program. See the Pueblo Cheiftain article here.
